On May 7, 2025, youth participants gathered online for an inspiring mentoring session focused on strengthening key skills to support their initiatives. Led by experienced facilitator Ana, the session explored essential competencies in leadership, communication, and problem-solving—skills critical for young changemakers driving positive impact in their communities.

The session began with a deep dive into what makes an effective leader, including active listening, clear decision-making, and the ability to support others through challenges. Ana guided participants through practical communication exercises, including a creative challenge where they had to explain complex ideas in just six words. This activity emphasized the importance of clarity and precision when conveying messages—especially in project presentations and team settings.

Problem-solving was addressed through the introduction of the IDEA method: Identify the problem, Develop possible solutions, Execute the best option, and Assess the outcome. Participants applied this framework to real-life scenarios, allowing them to reflect on how they manage issues within their own projects.

A group discussion encouraged everyone to share progress updates and strategies, while tools like the Skill Star and GOAT competence map helped participants self-assess and plan for their continued development. Ana closed the session by urging everyone to stay proactive and connected, emphasizing the value of collaboration and peer learning in their growth journeys.

The next mentoring session will take place on May 12 at 15:00 CET, with a focus on digital well-being and managing social media anxiety—a timely topic for young leaders navigating both online visibility and mental health.
