Under the Erasmus+ initiative Get on the Action Train (G.O.A.T.), young people across Europe were invited to turn their ideas into real actions for social change. From Bulgaria, three outstanding teams stood out for their creativity, empathy, and commitment to building stronger, more connected communities. Each project reflects the true spirit of Erasmus+ — empowering youth to learn, lead, and make a difference.
Career Consulting for Students
By Kremena Rasheva, Gabriela Radkova, and Magdalena Dimitrova
Implemented at P. R. Slaveykov Secondary School in Kardzhali, this five-month Erasmus+ youth initiative supported 20 high school students through personalized career counseling, mentorship, and skill-building sessions. The project aimed to bridge the gap between education and the labour market, helping students discover their strengths and make informed career choices.
Each participant was matched with a mentor from their chosen professional field, receiving valuable guidance and motivation. The initiative demonstrated the importance of career orientation in smaller towns and inspired more young people to pursue higher education and meaningful professions. All developed materials and know-how will continue to be used by the school to support future students in shaping their career paths.
Creation of Creative Sparks
By Daniela Obreshkova and Darina Steui
Through the Erasmus+ framework, Creation of Creative Sparks brought art, creativity, and emotional expression to the heart of the local community. The project consisted of four artistic workshops that encouraged young people to explore their talents, express themselves freely, and connect with others through creativity.
By offering a supportive and inclusive space, the initiative strengthened community ties, promoted mental well-being, and inspired youth to take part in cultural life. Its success has sparked a long-term vision — the team has already planned ten more workshops over the next year to keep the creative flame alive and continue nurturing the next generation of young artists.
Mental Health Academy
By Raleigh Popova, Tsvetelina Garelova, and Kalina Petrova
The Mental Health Academy, developed within the Erasmus+ programme, empowered young people to care for their mental well-being and advocate for positive change. The two-day academy reached over 60 participants and explored mental health from a systemic and intersectional perspective — focusing on resilience, collective responsibility, and self-care.
After the main sessions, the team organised a mountain day for reflection and practice, offering participants an opportunity to reconnect with nature and themselves. The academy also produced educational materials to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health. Today, the team continues to promote a sustainable and mindful lifestyle, inspiring others to nurture both personal and community well-being.
These three Bulgarian initiatives beautifully embody the Erasmus+ values of learning through experience, inclusion, and active citizenship. Through their creativity and dedication, young changemakers from Bulgaria are showing how local action can lead to lasting European impact — building a future where every young person has the tools, confidence, and inspiration to make a difference.lps ensure its outcomes will continue to inspire future initiatives.
