On July 4 and 5, 2025, the Celje Youth Center hosted the remarkable youth initiative Break the Floor, which not only impressed the visitors but also convinced the professional jury and became the first Slovenian winner of the GOAT (Get on the Action Train) competition!

The event, designed and carried out by the young people themselves, brought together urban culture, dance, creativity, inclusion, and active youth participation. Over two days, a diverse crowd of dancers, creators, mentors, visitors, and supporters gathered in Celje, whose presence and energy created an unforgettable atmosphere. In addition to dance competitions and performances, the event also offered creative workshops, relaxed discussions on youth culture, and space for socializing and networking.

The “Break the Floor” initiative represents an excellent example of how young people – with the right support and space to realize their ideas – can create an event that goes beyond local boundaries and achieves national recognition. The event attracted media attention and was also featured on the national portal mlad.si, confirming its importance and resonance with the wider public.

You can read more about the event on Mlad.si here.

“Break the Floor” was not just an event – it was a manifesto of youth creativity, the power of community, and the belief that young people, with their initiatives, can truly change the world around them.
Thank you to everyone who participated – organizers, volunteers, dancers, mentors, visitors, and all supporters. Without you, this story would not exist!

This initiative proves that young people have the ideas, courage, and power to create change. Our task is to support them, encourage them, and provide them with the space where they can shine.
