On the 7th of April 2025 we have started with the Virtual classroom sessions. The first one was implemented by our Bulgarian partner National Management School.
The summary of the virtual classroom:
Inner Development Goals and Self-Leadership
Irina led a session on inner development goals, emphasizing the importance of self-leadership and the interconnectedness of individuals within a community. She discussed the nature of inner development as collective, systemic, multidimensional, nonlinear, complex, emergent, and messy. She also highlighted the need to focus on three key levels: individual, organization, and community. Irina introduced the concept of “Mwe” (Me, We) and the five areas of inner development goals, with a focus on the “being” area, which involves cultivating a relationship with oneself. She encouraged participants to engage in a short meditation practice to deepen their inner life and presence.
Guided Meditation: Journey of Personal Growth
Irina led a guided meditation session, encouraging participants to settle into their space, let go of distractions, and focus on their breath. She then guided them to imagine themselves on a train, representing a journey of personal growth, collective growth, empowerment, and purpose. The train was described as steady, calm, and ready to take them on a journey of discovery and action. Participants were encouraged to tune into their body, feel the train’s gentle movement, and release any tension or distractions. The meditation concluded with a final deep breath and the opening of eyes, symbolizing the start of the journey. Participants expressed appreciation for the session.
Self-Leadership for Personal and Project Goals
Irina emphasized the importance of self-leadership in achieving personal and project goals. She highlighted the need for self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-efficacy, which are developed through intentional actions and a clear understanding of one’s purpose. Irina also stressed the significance of being present in the moment and being aware of one’s emotions, as these factors can greatly influence one’s ability to lead and collaborate effectively. She concluded by encouraging the group to adopt a learning mindset, recognizing that leadership and learning are interconnected and essential for driving change.
Reflecting on Personal and Organizational Missions
Irina led a meeting where participants were asked to reflect on personal and organizational missions. They were given four columns to fill out: what they want most out of life, what they would like to experience in their lifetime, their main gifts, and improvements they can undertake in their life. The participants were encouraged to share their thoughts in the chat or verbally. Irina guided them through the exercise and encouraged them to be spontaneous. The conversation ended with Irina expressing her appreciation for the participants’ engagement.
Personal and Organizational Missions Discussed
In the meeting, Irina led a discussion on personal and organizational missions, emphasizing the importance of awareness and consciousness. Participants were asked to identify their top goals and gifts for their organization. However, due to a lack of volunteers, Irina couldn’t demonstrate how to create a personal mission statement. The conversation ended with Irina sharing self-regulation techniques and encouraging participants to practice mindfulness and creativity. Katja thanked Irina for her work and encouraged everyone to review the Powerpoint presentation in the virtual classroom. |
